Where this profile fits
The Delta Tail Shad is the broader-tailed soft jerkbait in this lineup. Choose it when a triangular, flat tail is the silhouette you want behind a baitfish body. A weightless hook and a weighted hook create different presentations, so choose the rig as well as the profile.
Compare it with the 6-inch Wormtail Shad when your decision is between a broad tail and a narrow worm-like tail. Compare the small Forked Tail Minnow when you want to reduce the whole baitfish presentation. This Delta profile is not a boot-tail swimbait.
Rig options for 5" Delta Tail Shad
Weighted swimbait or keel hook
Adds weight along the hook for a deeper soft-jerkbait presentation.
Jig head
An exposed-hook option when the head and hook fit the baitfish body.
Can it be used as a trailer?
A situational swim-jig or bladed-jig trailer for a baitfish outline. The flat delta tail is a different shape from a boot or curly tail; make sure the hook leaves it free.
